Do Not Put Out the Spirits Fire!

(1 Thessalonians 5:19)

The Bible frequently likens the Holy Spirit to a flame (Isa. 4:4; Matt. 3:11; Acts 2:3-4). He warms the heart, enlightens the mind, and empowers people’s spirits. 

Do not allow the traditions of men to stifle out your God given gifts.
 

Tradition can be an enemy within our churches.  An enemy that says “You must conform to our way, You must do as we do, worship how we worship, and pray as we pray”.  God is not honored by the method, but by the heart of the worshipper.

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)

Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. (John 4:23)

God has placed a call upon this generation; a call to share the message of forgiveness and reconciliation.  A call to this generation to share the message of truth in a world that is full of false beliefs and false philosophies.

God has placed a call, and who will answer?

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”

And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”  (Isaiah 6:8)

 Will you answer the call?   Will you say…

“Here am I. Send me!”
